About The BM Fix
I'm not a doctor, and this isn't a medical site. I'm one person who spent four years dealing with hemorrhoids and an anal fissure, mostly in silence, because I was too embarrassed to deal with it properly.
During those years I searched constantly. What I found was either cold clinical pages that told me nothing practical, or sketchy sites trying to sell me miracle cures. Nobody talked about the fear of going to the bathroom, the fasting-to-avoid-it trap, or how long fiber actually takes to work. So when I finally got better, I built the site I wish I'd found in 2020. The whole story, embarrassing parts included, is on the My Story page.
Why trust this site?
Straight answer: don't trust me the way you'd trust a doctor. Trust me the way you'd trust a friend who went through it, took notes, and checked those notes against real sources. Three reasons this site is worth your time:
- Lived experience, documented. Four years of symptoms, mistakes, and the exact routine that ended them, with honest timelines instead of miracle claims.
- Sourced research. Where the articles state facts (healing timelines, fiber targets, treatment success rates), they cite the NIDDK, Mayo Clinic, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and published trials.
- No miracle products. I used three cheap things. The product pages say plainly which items I used and which are just standard clinician advice, and affiliate links are always disclosed.
What this site is
- My real experience: four years of mistakes and the routine that ended them
- Plain-English guides on symptoms, causes, relief, and when to get help
- Free tools (a quiz, a checklist, a 7-day challenge) to help you find your next step
- Honest notes on the few products I used, plus the standard advice doctors give
What this site is not
It's not medical advice, and it's not a substitute for a doctor. I avoided getting checked for four years and I'm telling you plainly: that was my biggest mistake. Think of this site as a friend who's been through it, and who keeps repeating "get it looked at" because he didn't.
How I keep it free
Some links here are affiliate links (mainly Amazon). If you buy through them I may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. That, and possibly some ads later, covers the cost of running the site. It never changes what I recommend. The full affiliate disclosure is here.
